Questions about my patterns
If you have questions about my patterns, you can email me using the form below. If you are on Ravelry, my username is hyla and you can also send me a message there. I try to respond to emails as soon as possible, but at some times of year (especially fall) I live at a remote field camp without internet and am only able to check messages weekly.
Other knitting help
If you need general help with knitting techniques, I recommend the following resources:
Ravelry is an online knitting community. The groups devoted to specific types of knitting (colorwork, lace etc.) are an excellent place to ask other knitters for help and search to see if others have already started a thread discussing the problem you are having
Knitty is an online knitting magazine with articles on techniques, usually illustrated with photos. Navigate to pattern library/find patterns + features/what would you like to read/ to search for techniques and instruction articles.
TECHknitter is a knitting techniques blog with excellent illustrated instructions.
YouTube if you prefer video tutorials to picture tutorials, search for the technique you are interested in here.
Brick and Mortar:
Local yarn shops - Classes and knitting groups offered at yarn shops are a great way to learn new techniques.
Public libraries - many libraries have decent selections of knitting books. Even if some of the patterns are a bit dated, you should be able to find a book that shows you how to cast on, knit, work stitch patterns, and so on.
